Guest post by Deborah Bryan founder of MyebookVA "The Authors Resource"There are many ways to approach affiliate marketing. The following summary is an overview through the steps to create a Sales Page Campaign. You can build one page (or several pages). Each page is a powerful sales tool focused on making sales and earning commissions for you.
Select an AudienceAsk yourself: Who is my audience? Be as specific as possible. For example:
- identify age group,
- gender,
- lifestyle,
- interests and challenges.
If you do not have an audience yet, select one. Identifying your audience is key to having the ability to communicate (to have a conversation with) your reader. Your conversational tone will set the stage for everything else on your page.
What problem is this product solving for my audience? The most prominent problem areas in many audience populations fall into one or more of the following categories:
1.Money (making more or having the skills to use available resources more effectively),
2.Security (personal safety and well being in the present and in the future),
3.Time (ability to save time or to use available time more effectively),
4.Relationships (improve relationships with family, friends, and associates).
Solve a problem in a new and creative way (or find someone who has) and offer your audience the opportunity to learn about it. You are providing a service by:
- Doing the research,
- Compiling the information resources,
- Providing reviews and recommendations, and
- Saving your reader time that would be spent trying to find suitable resources.

Now that you have your affiliate account created and your ID URL configurations ready, it is now time to create your sales page.
Select a topic niche- What niche topic(s) are you interested in?
- Who are your readers and what are they interested in?
If you are undecided, you can use
keyword trend tools to determine the most popular topics (based on search engine requests) or, if you already have an audience, ask them by creating a
survey or poll on your website.
Select the titles you will recommend- Within the niche topic you have selected, which titles are you going to recommend?
Search the list of available titles and create your collections using Tradebit ID URL configurations outlined above.
Create content for your sales page- Briefly write about the E-Books. You will be sharing with your readers about the recommended titles. A sales page will provide your audience with at least three things:
- A summary of the problem,
- Resources you used to solve the problem, and
- How your reader can attain and benefit from using the resources.
- Collect any graphics you will be using (Sales Page Header, E-Book Covers etc.)
- Check any links you will use to ensure they are working properly.
- Create affiliate link URLs and use a shortening service to mask them.
Create a sales page Compile the content to create a showcase of the E-Book (or other products, software etc.) recommendations you are making. There are a variety of ways you can present your sales page content:
- Stand alone web page (recommended sales page template)
- Blog post (using
Open Office HTML editor)
-
Squidoo lens (web page),
- Social Media update (Twitter, Facebook, Posterous, and Redgage), and
- Your Tradebit.com home page (subdomain).
- You might consider using a combination of platforms to promote the titles you have selected.
CommunicateInclude the option for your clients to communicate with you by offering them a subscription.
- Provide an RSS feed of your blog,
- Provide a sign up form for an E-Zine (follow up with additional titles later)
- Encourage returning clients by showcasing new title in each E-Zine delivery, and
- Communicate how long your clients can expect to wait for a reply from you.
Repeat
Continue to improve your sales page skills by creating more sales pages (using different approaches and techniques).
